February 12, 2006 Mrs. Deleora Ann Kinney, age 70, of Third Avenue, Wysox, PA passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2006 at her home in Wysox following a lengthy illness.
Deleora was born in Laceyville, PA on November 3, 1935 a daughter of the late William & Marcella Romaskiecz Sitas. She attended the Sylvara elementary school and graduated from the Wyalusing Valley High School, a member of the class of 1953. After graduation, she worked for the former Weldon Mfg. Co., of Lopez, PA where she was very accomplished at the double needle machine. Later she worked at the American Meter Company in Wyalusing, PA until her marriage to Robert O. Kinney on September 3, 1955. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They purchased a home on First Street in Wyalusing when her husband got a job at the GTE Sylvania plant in Towanda and later moved to Wysox.
Deleora was a member of St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church in Wyalusing, PA. She also loved to work in her flower beds and garden with her husband until health problems made it impossible. She had also enjoyed playing cards with her friends and family.
She is survived by her cherished husband, Robert, at home. A daughter and son-in-law: Susan & Tracy McCarty of Carthage, NY; a brother, Albert Sitas of Montrose; four sisters; Adella Stevens, Wyalusing, PA, Marian Worthington, New Albany, Stella Marie Hoffa, Oriskany, NY and Alice Saxe, Brackney, PA; and two grandsons, Cory & Garret McCarty of Carthage, NY; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Vera Champluvier in 1983; two brothers, William Sitas in 1985 and Joseph Sitas in 1988.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA with the Very Rev. Kenneth M. Seegar, her pastor, presiding. Interment will be in the Wyalusing Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday morning at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
