This is indeed the David Evans, son of Abraham Evans son of David Evans, Sr. But if I had Abraham in my original post as b 1773 it's an error. It should be b 1753. He was married 1773 to Mary Parks. David Evans was then b 1778, about the same time as David Evans, Sr's youngest child, my Washington Evans. This means that David and Washington would likely be playmates and went to school together (assuming they went to school). Therefore when Washington and his brother John moved to Licking County, Ohio in 1803, Abraham's son David probably missed him. And when his son Bethuel wanted to move out on his own, David probably suggested he move to where his uncle Washington lived. As you probably know, Bethuel is listed next to Washington in the 1850 census.
BTW, some on-line trees have copied an error I made when I started studying the Evanses of Licking County Ohio. Because Bethuel was next to Washington, I assumed he was a son of Washington, as the age was about right. But I haven't gotten everyone to move Bethuel to David son of Abraham as they should. Sorry about that!
Write me at dedmod at msn dot com and I'll send you a 42 page genealogy report on the descendents of Abraham Evans.
Oh, BTW, since you're a descendent of Bethuel, you're also related to me via the Clarks and the Frenches via his wife Laurania Clark.
