Surnames: PLATT, PLOTT, BLATT, BLOTT, WYSONG, WEISSONG, HAMMER
John PLATT was born in 1747 in Littlestown PA, served in the Revolution volunteering in the Pennsylvania Militia in the spring of 1775 at the Gettysburg tavern. In 1782 he married Elizabeth WYSONG/WEISONG, daughter of Ludwig Wysong and Mary Hammer of Heidelberg Twp., York Co. PA. His brother Joseph also served in the Revolution.

About 1800 he relocated to Huntington Co., that part which later became Cambria County. Early Catholic church records at St. Michael's in Loretto list the family name as BLATT, BLOTT, PLOTT and PLATT.

I am interested in any YORK/ADAMS leads on John's ancestry.
