Jean (Coll) Gormley, 84, of West First Street, Hazleton, died at her home on Wednesday evening.
Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Michael V. and Clara (Blanchard) Coll.
A member of St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church, Hazleton, she was a 1941 graduate of Hazleton High School and also attended Paul Smith’s College in the state of New York.
Jean was previously employed in the medical field by the Red Cross, Hazleton State Hospital and White Haven School Center.
She was very active in the Greater Hazleton Historical Society, where she served several terms as president.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband, attorney Frank Gormley, in 1979.
Surviving are daughters, Margaret Gormley, Rockaway Park, N.Y.; Anne Christopher and her husband, Carl, Hazleton; and Kim Gormley, Hazleton; grandchildren, Ryan, Andrew and Samantha Christopher; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m.
at Boyle Funeral Home, 100 S. Wyoming St., Hazleton.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
Friends may call at the funeral home today, 7 to 9 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 to 10 a.m.
