Jane L. Gerheart, 73, of Lower Sreet, Lattimer, passed away Thursday at Mountain City Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Harland and Helen Gardner. She was a member of Diamond United Methodist Church where she was a very active member prior to her illness.
Jane was raised in Lattimer and graduated from Hazle Township High School in 1957. She moved to Lansdale in 1968 where she lived for more than 30 years working and raising her children. Jane retired in 2000 from Ritz Camera in Flourtown, and moved back to Lattimer in 2001. She was an avid reader and animal lover, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Phillip Gerheart; and infant son, Phillip Gerheart Jr.
She is survived by her children, Brian Gerheart and his companion, Laura Markle, Lattimer; Mark Gerheart and his wife, Renee, Hatfield; Dale Gerheart, Oley; and Amy Jazowski and her husband, Eric, Lattimer; and her grandchildren, Amber, Rachael, Matthew, Nathan, Ben, Paul and Damian. She is also survived by sisters, Eleanor Mehalick, her husband, Richard; Marge Trovitch; Linda Styers; and a brother, Harland Gardner Jr.
A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Diamond United Methodist Church by the Rev. Carol Vinson Lawfer. Interment will be held privately and at convenience of the family.
