Lamar H. Sausser, 84, of 43 Lamar Lane, Montoursville, passed away Wednesday at his residence.
Born in Ashland, March 8, 1928, he was a son of the late Clinton and Catherine McSurdy Sausser.
Lamar graduated from Bloomsburg University, and retired from Central Columbia School District, where he taught the sixth grade.
He was a Navy veteran having served during the Korean War.
He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Montoursville. He was also a member of American Legion Post 0434, VFW Post 7654, and the 40 et8, all in Williamsport.
Lamar loved fishing and hunting.
Surviving are his wife, the former Kathy Jo Flick; three sons, Kenneth (Linda) and Randall (Tammy), both of Frackville, and Ronald (Michelle), Reading; six grandchildren, Kenneth, Kate, Randall, Tiana, Dakota, and Conner; and a great-granddaughter, Maladia.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with the Rev. David B. Letscher officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Military rites will be accorded by Lycoming County Korean War Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
