Joyce A. Yocum of 815 W. 17th St., Hazleton, died Wednesday morning in her residence.
She was born in Hackettstown, N.J., the daughter of the late Orville C. and Ruth (Cummins) Ackerman.
Prior to her retirement, Joyce was a cashier at Foodtown Grocery Store in New Jersey.
She was a member of Diamond Methodist Church, Hazleton.
Joyce was very active in the community, serving as a volunteer at the former Hazleton St. Joseph Medical Center, Meals on Wheels and at Hazleton General Hospital.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was a brother, Frank Ackerman.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are her husband, Walter; children, Iris Lynn Gerlach, Stanhope, N.J.; Walter H. Yocum, Marietta, Ohio; Gregory A. Yocum, Wharton, N.J.; and Richard W. Yocum, Jefferson Township, N.J.; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing.
Arrangements are under the direction of Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home Inc., 542 N. Wyoming St., Hazleton.
