COAL TOWNSHIP — Agnes M. Haas, 102, of Coal Township, and formerly of Helfenstein, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013, at Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Mowry, Oct. 8, 1910, a daughter of the late Harry and Anne (Knock) Wolfgang.
Agnes was married Oct. 25, 1930, to Oley Haas, who preceded her in death Oct. 10, 1983.
She worked in garment factories in Mount Carmel.
She was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Catherine Kerstetter and her husband, Melvin, of Gowen City; a son and daughter-in-law, William Haas and his wife, Carolyn, of Wilmington, Del.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Allen Wolfgang, of Lavelle, and Lester Wolfgang, of Ashland.
She was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
HAAS — Agnes M. Haas, 102, of Coal Township, and formerly of Helfenstein. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, with the Rev. David Byerly officiating. Viewing will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Gowen City.
