Re: Where is Redbank, PA?
Redbank PA is along the Allegheny River in Clarion County. It was once an important point on the Pennsylvania Railroad
and the junction point where the PRR Buffalo & Allegheny Valley Division mainline and the Low Grade Line met. Redbank Creek flows into the Allegheny River at Redbank and is the dividing line between Clarion County on the north side of the creek and Armstrong County, on the south side of the creek. There were never many homes on the Clarion County side, and today there are none. It was always pretty much devoted to the railroad. There are farms and homes up on the hill on the Armstrong County side of the creek and the people who live there will tell you that they live in Redbank, but maps show no identification of this area, even thugh St. Mary's Episp. church is identified as being in "Redbank". On the old railroad mileage charts, Redbank is 64.5 miles from Pittsburgh. The area on the Armstrong County side was once called Hayesville, but this goes back to the late 19th century. Hope this helps.
