I have an Edward Sumner born April 1867 in Preston, England. On the 1881 census he is listed as a confectioner. He marries a Margaret Hill in Preston in 1890. She was born in 1860. He is missing on the 1891 census, but she is listed as married and living with her mother. They then disappear.
I have found them on the 1900 USA census in South Kingstown Town (Northwest Side), Washington, Rhode Island. They are listed as Edward and Margurete Summer, the birth sates are correct and both born in England and he is listed as a baker. He also is shown to have come to the USA in 1883, so I am presuming he came back to the UK to get married and he was in the USA when the UK 1891 census was taken. They are also stated in the 1900 USA census to have been married for 10 years which is correct.
I then lost them. Any help would be appreciated. I can't see them as having any children. She was 40 on the USA 1900 census and they are childless then.
Thanks,
Sally
