In digging for information on Boon(e) Gardiner/Gardner, when his 1884 death record was transcribed, it listed his parents as "Ranal" and "Hannah M." Gardner/Gardiner.
On his tombstone, he is listed as Boon Gardiner (no "e" and the "i" in variant of the surname).
I've also seen some "trees" where Esther Leah Cottrell (Boon's wife) is shown as married to a William Gardiner, (1798-1820) and having a son with him in 1820 (also William, who lived to 1880).
This brings the question, if she did marry both William and Boon, and they were surely not the same person, WERE they closely related? Was William, perhaps, and older brother of Boon?
This is fairly new line in my research, but it's surely an interesting one.
