The Ferguson Ferry ran across the Santee River to Clarendon County from Pond Bluff plantation on the south bank to an unknown dock on the north bank.

Where was the north Dock located??

Later the south dock became part of the Santee River Cypress Lumber Company complex. This company built a railtoad bridge across the Santee to Claredon County to log the swamp on that side of the river.

The whole area much later became the eastern end of Orangeburg County.
