This Reuben's first child was born about 1836 according to the 1850 census. In 1850, his wife Mary Ellen Nevitt Williamson (c1815-1899)and her children were living with her parents so I'm assuming that Reuben had died before 1850. The Reuben born 1835 could have been named after this Reuben Williamson who married Mary Ellen Nevitt. My Anderson families are Clarke, Nevitt, and Crosby. Someone in Anderson made up a family tree with these families probably 30 years ago, and Reuben Williamson was listed as the husband of Mary Ellen Nevitt, sister of my two ancestors Martha Jane Nevitt, wife of John Baylis Clarke, Jr.(1824-1888) and Emaline Nevitt, wife of David Crosby (1827-1899) all of Anderson, SC.
