I don't find a Moses Holland listed in my particular Hollands. The ones I have began with Jacob (born probably in Virginia about 1750) and Benjamin Holland, his brother. Their father's name was Benjamin (will in Ise of Wight Co. VA made Sept. 16, 1799, probated July 7, 1800 names two sons, Jacob and Benjamin - possibly the ones found in SC records).
Jacob married Mary or 'Polly or Dolly' Harrison about 1770 and died October 17, 1815. I have a lot of info on his line.
Sorry I don't know about Moses. There are a number of books about Hollands. Supposedly the family was of Norman French origin, settled in Lancashire, England. The name appears to have been taken about the year 1200 in the time of King John from the estate of Holland in Lancashire. This family fled the Catholic persecution in 1685 and they settled in America upon the Lower James River.
I think I saw a book in the Clayton Genealogical Library about a branch of the family where there was a Moses Holland, but because it wasn't my branch, I didn't read it.
Sorry, I can't be of more help.
