Thanks for the quick reply. I knew I could not see a connection to my Massey line when I looked at your tree. Can you put me in touch with the person you were researching for? I'd also like to compare any information you might have found on Jenkins Edward Massey. I have always suspected him to the son of one of the single daughters in whose home he resided. Thomas Massey married Susan Dickerson and she would have been about 46 when Jenkins was born. Certainly not impossible for her to be his mother. My maternal grandmother gave birth to her tenth child when she was almost 43. I do not believe we are descended from Noel Massey, but there might be a connection based on naming patterns. Braddock Massey was living in the same general area of upstate South Carolina when he served in the War of 1812 with his service likely coming mostly in 1814. Philip, Robert, and Samuel Massey served with him.
