William Stokes, born abt. 1820 in Ireland and died 14 Feb. 1874 in Baltimore, MD. He married Anna Haley, born abt. 1821 in Ireland (not sure where or when marriage took place). Their first-born son, Thomas Alphonus Stokes, was born 21 Dec. 1846 in Beaufort, S.C. This information was disclosed on his death certificate.

The family eventually moved to Baltimore, and I have them in Baltimore in the 1860 census. Daughter Mary was born in Baltimore in 1854.

Have been unable to locate the family in South Carolina at all. Am looking for immigration information for William and/or Anna, as well as a marriage record for William and Anna or birth information related to Thomas. Are there city directories for Beaufort?
