Surnames: Happoldt, Duffin, Hanna, Bishop
Happoldt family were prominent in early history of Charleston, Gun makers, Carriage makers, iron workers. Guns displayed in museum to this present day by the Happoldt brothers. My G Grandfather was a Happoldt kin to these Happoldts...But somehow I never did get his name from my Grandmother. They said he left Charl. day civil war broke out, but my Grandmother was born 10 yrs. later, so he had to have lived that long. He marr. to Saphronia Duffin, born in Charleston Aug.11, 1842, d. July 3, 1909. had children Lilly, Maggie, I believe brother's name was Fred. Any information out there on the Duffin fam. or this Happoldt. They were prominent in the St. John's Lutheran Church. His father, or g.father was George Christopher Happoldt, born 1787 in Braunsbach,Germany.
