Sgt. James Anderson Woollen (not Wootten), CSA musician, Co. C, 45th N.C. Troops, was born Cheraw, S.C., 5-22-1836, died Winston-Salem, N.C. (Old Salem), 6-9-1905, wed Miss Susan Caroline Malcolm of Guilford Co., N.C. He was the son of John D. Woollen and Rebecca Heath of Rockingham Co., N.C. Rebecca may have died Randolph Co., N.C. John's death place and grave is unknown. Seek Cheraw, 1830s, Woollen family data. Jim, Charlotte, N.C. Sgt. Woollen is in the 1890s (original, later reprinted) "Lee Family of Virginia" by Edmund Jennings Lee.
