To: Bill Love regarding John Love - John Love could have been James Harvey Love's brother. James Harvey Love (1803-1885)of Chester County, my great, great, great grandfather, married Sarah Bowen (1808-1863)from Yorkville (York), SC. They moved from Chester County to Choctaw County, Mississippi, possibly with several other Chester County Loves. I think the town they lived in was Chester, MS. James' and Sarah's daughter Nancy Elizabeth Love (1837-1915) married my great, great grandfather John Knox Thompson (1822-1887)and they lived in Oktibbeha County, Mississippi, in a town called Osborne I think. John Knox Thompson named his first born William Love Thompson (1875-1932)(my great grandfather). William (Bill) married Mabel Richardson (1879-1956)and they lived in Mississippi. They had two sons and a daughter: Bill Jr. (now deceased) and my grandfather Robert Ludlow Thompson (1908-1996) - also a daughter whose name I cannot recall at the moment. James Harvey Love's parents were Richard (1768-1842)from Chester County & Elizabeth Love (?-?) from Yorkville (York) (supposedly not related); Richard's parents were James Love II (1740-1807) and Jane Lockhart (1772-1803)who lived near present day Lockhart, SC and Elizabeth's parents were Benjamin Love (?-?)and Jean (or Jane?)Gaston (?-?)who lived in Chester County. James Love II parents were James Love I (?-1760) originally a weaver from Chelsea, England who came to Chester via Pennsylvania I believe, and his mother was Martha "Mattie" Drennan (?-?) originally from Northern Ireland to Pennsylvania then to Chester. Do any of these Loves sound like a link to your family. Email me and I can clarify things if you need. By the way I have lived in South Carolina all of my life and now live in Columbia, SC.
