Winnfield - Elbert H. Buchanan, 93, died Monday in a local hospital after a lenghty illness. Funeral services will be held today at 2:30 p. m. in Siloam Baptist Church at Gannsville with the Rev. Cecil R. Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. He was a native of Bienville Parish and a retired farmer. Survivors are five sons, E. J. Buchanan and R. L Buchanan, both of Winnfield, Eugene Buchanan of Olla, A. l. Buchanan of Joyce, and Odie Buchanan of Chalmette; six daughters, Mrs. Susie Williams and Mrs. Mae Jones, both of Winnfield, Mrs. Seleta Williams of Dry Prong, Mrs. Pearl Laster of Vivian, Mrs. Viola Jones of Colfax and Mrs. Edna Burton of Vicksburg, Miss.; two brothers, Willim Buchanan of Texas and R. M. Buchanan of Pineville; five sisters, Mrs. Sudie Franklin of Dodson, Mrs. Sadie Moreland of California, Mrs. Jesse Holsomback and Mrs. Dorathy Tims, both of Jonesboro and Mrs. Pal Wright of Lake Providence; 26 grandchildren; 30 great- grand children; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
