My line goes back to Hans Casper Kolb/Kulp who settled in what is now the area of Chester County SC. A lot of researchers believe that he was related to the Johannes Kolb who settled on the west bank of the Great Pedee River which is now in Marlboro County, just across the river from Society Hill in Darlington Co SC.
If any male with the last name of Kolb would do a DNA test we would be able to determine if there was a relationship of those who settled in SC & those who settled in PA.
The DNA results are completely private and only list the family line not the DNA participant. If anyone is interested in doing the DNA feel free to contact me at bepstein@sc.rr.com The site for the Kolb/Culp DNA is http://kolb-kulp-culp.org/kolbkulpculp_dna_project

I don't have much on the Kolb line other than knowing that the Col. Kolb of Marlboro County is a great or g-g uncle of the Kolbs that settled in Clarendon County. I have grave stone pictures of the Kolbs that married into the Hill line starting in the mid 1800's.

I was born on 6 November 1947 to Wesley and Mae Corbett who lived near Paxville, SC. My grandfather was Claude William Corbett and my great grandfather was James Joseph Corbett who served with the 20th South Carfolina Infantry in the Civil War. We had a number of Holladays on my father's side of the family. I remember Aunt Bessie (Elizabeth Holladay) who remembered Civil War veterans as a young girl when I was a small child.
could i get your help with a manning ancestry question? my grand dad Henry Charles Fleming (Charles h Fleming in the manning 1910 census) was born in 1906 in manning. he has a brother earl born a few years later. his mother is Ada frierson who i guess married Charles Fleming. I found a marriage record form fredricksburg Virginia where Henry Charles Fleming married evrie Hughes, my grand mother. it list Charles Fleming and Ada as his parents. this document is the only thing i ever found with Charles on it. in the census it list (fathers occupation as carpenter). did people go to Virginia to get married? how do i find out what happened to Charles? I live in Arizona now but my grand dad had some business in manning, some interest in the old movie theater, a grocery store, a junk yard, a bar down from the court house that changed into a furniture store. do you know of any of the these old business? i believe most where called h.c Fleming and sons. My dad was a quiet one till he died a few years ago, so i never heard any of stories from him growing up, or about his genealogy. any help would be appreciated. One more thing. i heard Ada might be buried in the old manning cemetery along with my unknown uncle earl. is that cemetery cataloged online anywhere? would like to get a pic of her headstone. my email is biloxicoast@yahoo.com

They are buried in Corinth Baptist Church cemetery in Vance, SC.

According to info I've found through my research, Ada and Asa had 12 children. My grandmother, Margaret (Maggie) Rhame, was their second born and oldest of three daughters.

If you have any information about Ada Holladay, I would love to know more about her.

Thank you.

Louise Murray-Pino, great granddaughter of Ada E Holladay, daughter of Neighbor Harvin Holladay, son of James C.
