My 3rd greatgrandfather Richard Hyrne was born in South Carolina and married Maria-born in England. They moved to Ohio after their sons Leonidas and Robert were born and then to Lewis Co.,KY where Maria died sometime in the 1840's.Richard remarried later and had another family. I know little about the Hyrnes, but I have a copy of OUR FAMILY CIRCLE by Annie Elizabeth Miller and this book gives a lot of information on the Hyrnes from the early 1700's,but am I related to this line? The book by Beulah Glover NARRATIVES OF COLLETON COUNTY,South Carolina is supposed to mention the Hyrnes and COLLETON COUNTY,S.C.a history of the first 160 years by Evelyn McDaniel Frazier Bryan also is supposed to mention the Hyrnes. I would appreciate any information on this family.Thank you.

Hi,
Mary Hyrne Jaudon, who Betty Dixon told you about, married Edward Perry. Both are buried in a family cemetery less than a mile from my house. Betty D. is descended from their daughter, Grace Nelson Perry and I am descended from their daughter Jane Catherine Perry. They had another daughter, Susan Elizabeth, b. 1848, d 1903, who married James William Wilson, b. 1848, d. 1915. Their children were: Allen Hyrne Wilson, Charles Perry Wilson, Sr., Carrie Wilson, and Lester Arnauld Wilson, Sr. MD.
The telephone number of Rev. Dr. Robert E. H. Peeples, who has copies of the book, "Our family Circle," is (843) 785-3967.
"Jaudon" is misspelled on Mary Hyrne's tombstone. The third letter on the tombstone is an "N" instead of a "U", so if you should come across a family tree with her name in it, it might be spelled "J-A-N-D-O-N." But "JaudonD-O-N" is the correct spelling.

I am a Hyrne descendant from Colleton County, SC, and I have Beulah Glover's book. I would be glad to copy what she wrote of the Hyrnes and send it to you. The best I have seen, however, was Vol .2 of S. C. Genealogies. There is an entire section on the Hyrnes. This was published by the Reprint Company in Spartenberg, S. C., and is out of print, I understand. They also re-published Beulah Glover's book of which you spoke, "Narratives of Colleton County."

Hi Nita,
I was wondering if you would know anything about a Henry Alexander Hyrne who married Permelia T. Maree, probably in Berkeley County? I have a photo of Henry Hyrne and a younger man named Luther Hughes taken around the turn of the century. I don't know the custom of the day but perhaps it was a wedding photo. That possibly Luther Hughes married a daughter of Henry Hughes? Any clue? Would love to share this picture with any family members.

My aunt's family are Glovers and she is researching out your way. maybe you know each other---Dorothy Thomas Glover. I myself have Beluah Glover's book on order if they ever get around to reprinting it.

I am trying to gather information on Caroline Hyrne. She married Andrew Smoak. Apparently Andrew died in the 1870's because Caroline is shown in the 1880 census as a widow. Does anybody know where she or Andrew is buried? My gggrandfather Julius H. Johnson married 3 Smoak girls and I'm trying to make the family tie. If you can help It would be greatly appreciated.
