I am having trouble finding history on Moses Pruitt and wife Jane, b abt 1820 SC. According to Confederate military records Moses enlisted in Captain Hunley's Company of the 18th Alabama Infantry at Harpersville, Shelby County, Alabama in June, 1861. He was 41 yoa. Three months later he was dead of typhoid at Huntsville, Alabama and is buried there. Spouse Jane Pruitt petitioned the Confederate government for his back pay and other entitlements and was awarded $106.00 in 1863. According to the 1870 census, Jane is 50 yoa and b in SC. Jane also recieved a widow's pension when they became available in 1889. Can't find anything on either of them back there in Edgefield District, SC, or anywhere else. Anyone have anything on these people? Any info appreciated.
