Greenville County is one of several possible residences in South Carolina of Keren Happuch Massey (my ggg grandmother, dob 3/11/1798), who married Allen Toney Estes in 1825 and moved to Clayton County GA before 1827. Her parents are supposed to be Thomas Massey and Mary Peeples of Rockingham County, NC, according to a now-lost Estes family Bible. Records of that couple exist, but Mary would have to have been over 50 at Keren's dob and Thomas's will of 1825 lists no such daughter. Alternate spellings of her name are Karan Happuck and Karan Hambrick Massey. Her husband's father apparently spelled his name Charles Eastes. There may have been a Thomas Massey and Mary Peeples in SC a generation later than the couple in NC. I'd appreciate any information on any of these names. I have very extensive records on Allen Toney and Keren Happuch's descendants to share.
