Does anyone have an Allen Smith in their family, born in 1798 (June 6) in the town of Estill, in Hampton County, SC? His son was Joel Eason Jason Smith, who was my great-great-grandfather.

I am looking for any sort of information at all on Allen Smith or his wife Mary, or anybody else in their family. Newspaper articles, census data, anything. I am new to genealogical research. I haven't found any census record (1800-1810-1820-1830-1840) with his name on it, and I do not know who his parents were or his wife Mary's parents, or her last name. He should be on the Hampton County, SC Census for 1800 and 1810 only, and on the Wilkinson County, GA Census for 1820, 1830 and 1840.

Allen Smith was born in Estill, SC 6 June 1798
I do not know when he left the area, but 1817 seems likely
He married in 1817 (when he was 19); I do not know where.
They had their fist child in 1818, reportedly in NC
By 1819, they were in Georgia and had their second child
It appears that they lived most of their married life in Wilkinson County, Georgia, which is where Allen Smith died in 1841,.

Allen Smith
b. 6 June 1798 in Estill, SC
m. 1817 to "Mary"
d. 1841 in Wilkinson County, GA

Their children:

Larkin B. Allen Smith, b. 1818 in NC, married 18 Jan. 1844 in Wilkinson County, GA to Sarah Ann Hicks (d. 1863)

Mary Ann Rebecca Smith, b. 1819 in GA, married 1840 to Wilson E. Sears

Francis Marion A. Smith, b. 1822 in Wilkinson County, GA, d. 1847 in Wilkinson County, GA, married 3 July 1850 in Wilkinson County, GA to James Davidson (who was killed during the Civil War)

Joel Eason Jason Smith, b. 15 April 1827 in Wilkinson County, GA, married in 1846 to Mary J. Methvin; died 1888, buried in Georgetown Cemetery, Quitman County, GA (he was a teacher, and he moved to Randolph County, GA between 1840 and 1850

John Allen Madison Smith, b. 1828 in Wilkinson County, GA, married 1855 to Laura B. Moore, and died 1863 in Petersburg, VA

Susan Caroline Smith, b. 12 Sept. 1831 in Wilkinson County, GA, married 1846 to Roulas F. Rozar, d. 1857 in Wilkinson County, GA

Richard Randolph Smith, b. 1833 in Wilkinson County, GA, moved to the household of Joel E. Smith in 1860

I got this information from a book on Randolph County, Georgia (the above information was submitted by Mrs. Earleen W. Sizemore, Sylvester, GA).
