I am looking for information on Willis Benjamin Eaton born May 1847 in South Carolina and died 13 May 1904 in Knoxville, Knox, Tennessee. Willis who was called Ben married Luzania (Lu) Kimbrell in South Carolina abt 1867. Lu was born 04 Dec 1844 in South Carolina and died 27 Jul 1916 in Knoxville, Knox, Tennessee. Both are buried in unmarked graves in Shieldstown Cemetery in Knoxville. Their children are William Henry born 1867 in South Carolina, Nancy Elizabeth born 1874 in TN, George Washington born 1876 in TN, Josie Rachel born 1878 in TN and Callie Ella born 1883 in TN. 1900 Census records shows Willis and Luzania had 10 children and only 5 living at time of census. Willis and Luzania are from Pickens, SC. I have been able to located parents of Luzania but am stuck on Willis Benjamin. Willis had a sister Jane Eaton born Jan 1846 in SC. She married Charles Newton Jones in 1863. 1870 Census shows Willis and Jane living in the same household with their spouses and children in Knoxville, TN. I believe they may have had a brother named John C Eaton but I am only speculating at this time. If this is the case, he was born abt 1853 in SC. I have been told that Willis and Jane's father may have been a John Eaton but this has not been proven. Any information on Willis and Jane's parents is greatly appreciated. My grandmother once told me that Willis' mother disowned him and I have also been told by another source that Willis' father went to Charleston SC in 1880 and was never heard from again. Again, this has not been proven. I am more than happy to share any information that I have. Thank you!
