Dear Fellow Singleton Family Members:
I have taken on the task of searching, tracing, and identifying the descendants of William and Sarah Singleton of Horry County, SC.
I am a Seventh Generation Descendant of the abovementioned William and Sarah Singleton of Horry County, SC. My grandmother is the former Miss Frances Singleton of Horry County, a daughter of Henry Benjamin and Emma Gussie Fullwood Singleton.
The abovementioned William Singleton was born in 1803 and died during the 1860's in Horry County, SC. His wife, who appears as Sarah A. on the census was born ca. 1800. At this time I do not know her maiden name. Any ideas? facts? proof of maiden name? Please help me...
William and Sarah Singleton reared five children:
1) Benjamin William Singleton (1825-1895/1900)who married
first to Sarah Jane Vaught and secondly to Alice Hearl.
2) John Marion Singleton (1830-1876) who married Frances A.
Vaught.
3) Elizabeth "Lizzie" Singleton (1836-1906) who married
Gabriel L. Skipper.
4) William F. "Uncle Billy" Singleton (1839-1914) who
married Eliza J. Sing.
5) Solomon R. Singleton (1845-1862) who died of disease
during the War Between the States.
This is my family. I descend from Benjamin William Singleton. If you descend from the family briefly outlined above, I would be much more than happy to hear from you for the main purpose of making sure that you and your family is included in this volume of family history that I am compiling.
It is my sincere hope that this volume will be completed before the year 2001.
I would appreciate all your help.
