I found several books that purport to have transcribed personal accounts of several men who visited or settled in the Carolinas in the 1670's or earlier. These were located through Heritage Quest, an online resource that my local library provides free of charge. In these, there were several mentions of the "Carolina" going to the Bahamas and New England in 1670. It supposedly came by way of England/Ireland/Bahamas to SC. Unfortunately, I can not find a list of passengers.....just sparse references to incomplete lists. No one else has responded to my query so far. If I receive an e-mail (not a website post) with info on the Carolina, I will try to remember to send a copy your way.
