Mr Gibbon ~
I, ALSO, am conducting research on the Stephen Watson "line," and have a few comments / inquiries that I hope you could assist me with . . . .
Stephen Watson & his southern-born wife (a staunch defender of the Confederacy) made a name for themselves as cotton merchants in Great Britain. CSA Special Agent Edward Anderson mentions them in his “Confederate Secret Agent” book.
Yet, you claim that a "Sinclair Watson" was a Cotton Merchant in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England.
What might be the relationship between "Stephen" and "Sinclair?" OR ..... might it be a mistaking of information on either Ed Anderson's part, or (maybe?) yours?
This I*S kind of important, to me. Can you, please, respond to my e*mail address (firstname.lastname@example.org
), since I rarely check these bulletin boards? Your attention to this matter is GREATLY appreciated!!
PS: I*F you know of a location where I might be able to obtain a good B/W image of "Stephen" (-or- "Sinclair"), would you please be so kind as to inform me?
