Loyalist William WALLACE
Would like to exchange information with others researching the family of British Loyalist William Wallace. Wallace is assumed to be of Scots-Irish heritage. He arrived in South Carolina ca 1773 and fled to Nova Scotia ca 1782. He served in Colonel Richard King's Regiment, Long Cane Militia, Upper Ninety Six Brigade, after Charlestown (now Charleston) was taken in 1780.
In Nova Scotiam as a Loyalist, he received a Crown grant of 500 acres in Rawdon Twp.
William's oldest son, James, returned to South Carolina in 1816 and thereafter moved to Illinois
