I have found my great great grandfather and one of his sons living as boarders in Beadle, Dakota Territory in the 1880 census. He is also listed on another 1880 census with his family. I am wondering what kind of facility or boarders they were. Why would they be away from their family? What kind of work were they doing (laborors)? Carpenters are also listed on this census. Mostly men, but a few women and children. My gg grandfather was David Day Frazier. His son David Lord Frazier. Hoping someone has some knowledge of this area during this time period and what kind of work these men might have been doing.
