FindaGrave has Charles RATHBUN, bu. Groton, served in Co. D, Eighteenth WI Infantry. Charles Terrence RATHBUN (26 Mar. 184[7?] , NY - 6 Sep. 1909, Webster, Day Co., SD) m. 16 July 1865, Monroe Co., WI, Charlotte RIGGS. Censuses from 1860 on consistently list his birth as in 1847, but he was listed as ten in 1850. He had served in the war before his marriage, so he must have been born before 1847.

WI, 1860, RATHBUN, Ruth, 52, NY; ch. b. WI: B. B., 15; Charles, 13; Byron, 10.
B. B. must be Reuben (see 1900 census), but he doesn't fit the names in 1850. Byron's age is closer, but he was two in 1850, so he should have been 12 in 1860.

In 1880, Wells, Monroe Co., WI, RATHBUN, Charles, 33, WI NY NY; Sharlot A., 37, OH CT OH; ch. b. WI: James, 12; & Addie, 10.

Webster, Day, SD, 1900, RATHBUN, Charles, b. Mar. 1847; Sharlotte, b. July 1849; Hazel, b. July 1893; brother Reuben, b. Nov. 1854.

Byron RATHBUN m. 26 Apr. 1869, Monroe Co., WI, Jane FELLOWS. They were of Otter Tail Co., MN, 1870, Byron, 20; wf. Jane, 17; & May, 5 mos. They were there in 1875, Byron, 25, WI NY PA; Ella Jennie, 22, WI VT NY; Julia, 5; Neal, 2. May must have become Julia by 1875.

In 1900, they were of Buffalo, Cass, ND, Byron, 51; Ella, 47; Charles, 19; Nellie, 16. They were of Ravalli Co., MT, from 1910 through 1930, Byron (25 Dec. 1849 [?] - 2 May 1930) & Ella (12 Aug. 1852 - 22 Nov. 1930) are on FindaGrave.
