GALAX, Va. — Stephen L. Taylor died Friday, June 26, 2009, at Forsyth Hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C. He resided at 310 Taylorwood Road in Galax.

He was born July 28, 1938, in Belle Fouche, S.D.

Mr. Taylor was the owner of C&S Floor Covering in Mount Airy.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Stephen T. Taylor and Susie Thompson Taylor of Lebanon, Ore.

Survivors include his brother, Wayne Taylor and wife Sallie Taylor of Nenna, Ala.; and his sister, June Taylor Helvic and husband Leon Helvic of Soldotna, Ala.

There will be a memorial service held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 322 Winterberry Road, Galax, Saturday at 2 p.m. with Jack Mooring officiating.
