Thank you so much for all that information, Marilyn. It is appreciated. My husband's great, great, great grandmother was Jane Espy. We think that the Espys knew the Mader family somehow and when Sara's mother died the Espys took her in - we don't know if she was officially adopted or just lived with them. Sara's father was still living so we don't know why he didn't continue to raise her. It's all a mystery. I thought finding her obituary may offer some answers. Usually, if one waits long enough these things finally get solved. Thank you again for your help. DZ
