This obit is from my grandmother's scrapbook and no information is given as to when or where it was published. My connection is to the Herberts married into this family.

JAMES KINSEY

James Kinsey, the eldest son of Daniel and Esther Kinsey, was born at Walker, Ind., October 22, 1865, and died at Hot Springs, S.D., July 26, 1928. When a small child he came with his parents to Nebraska, where his early life was spent. In 1886 he came to the Black Hills and settled in Custer County where he had resided since.
He was married to Elsie Jewett on July 25, 1888, and to this union four daughters were born, all of whom have homes in this vicinity. He was again married in March 1919, to Margaret Mathews. He is survived by his aged mother, his wife and four daughters, one brother and three sisters.
Mr. Kinsey resided on a spendid farm a few miles east of
Custer. In addition to his farm work he had devoted, for the past thirty years or more, a few months each year to the work of shearing sheep in South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana. His unusual skill in this work had made him an annual welcome guest at numerous homes throughout the territory.
He was a quiet, unassuming man who made friends without effort. The splendid ovation given at his funeral, Sunday afternoon, at the Community Church, and the large concourse of people that followed his body to it's final resting place at the little Cold Springs Cemetery, are evidences of the wide friendship which was his.
