My GGrandfather Robert MURALT married by GGrandmother Elise HIRSBRUNNER in what I though was Seelisburg, Hand County. I was in contact with Joy Fisher and she gave me info that it was probably Saylesville, Hand County. The town was est. July 13, 1883 and discontinued Jan 20, 1885. Location Sec 7, T116N, R66W, Postmaster July 13, 1883 J. W. Sayles.
They were married Nov 11, 1883 and I was going to request a copy of the marriage license but they don't issue them for that year at the SD State Department. I was wondering where to go from here. Is it a lost cause. They were married in a Lutheran church I'm sure. Could I get ahold of a Lutheran Church close to the area? They both came from Switzerland and eventually settled in Woodlake, MN. Please tell me if I'm at a dead end.
