George H. Wetmore was said to be one of the first settler of Hanson County in a history found in Iowa. He was born in 1832 in Ohio. Supposedly he acted as Treasurer and Director of the Southern Dakota railroad that ran from Sioux City to Yankton, South Dakota from 1870 to 1874. He later lived in Adair County, Iowa where he farmed. I would appreciate any information you have to share about George and I'd be glad to provide all the information I have about the Wetmore family to you. Thank you.
