My great-grandmother, Mercedees (Farris) Sanders, always said that she had 2 other siblings that died as infants. They would have been born and died between 1881 and 1887. Their parents were John Hardin Farris b.1853 and Anna (Parker)Farris b.1860.
According to my notes from when I interviewed my ggrandma dee-dee back in 1995 (I was 16) From 1881 John and Anna moved frequently and lived in Kirk, Whitewood, Deadwood, and Centennial, before moving to Aladdin,WY in 1886/7 and then on to Spear Fish and Belle Fourche after John H died. Im not sure the order or how long in those places.
She thought the one baby was burried in Whitewood, around 1883, not sure of name, or if had a name but was maybe only a few days old.
The 2nd baby, she wasn't sure of name but thought it might have been when they lived in Centennial or Kirk, around 1885, baby was a few months old (less than 1). Story is that baby got very sick, thought it was teething, and gums turned black within a couple of days baby had died. Don't think they ever really knew what the cause was. In my notes I said he, but not really sure of the sex.
If anyone could help me with more information, like death certificates, dates, places of burial, sexes, or names of infants if they were given.
Sorry for not having more details. One reason is my gma dee-dee was in her 80s at the time and I was 16 and had no idea what pertinent information to ask. Boy do I wish I could go back in time. :) But I guess we wouldn't all be here if that was the case!
