Ulrikson-Morton Wed Saturday
At the Lands Lutheran Church

At a double ring ceremony Lois Ulrikson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam K. Ulrikson, Canton, and Sherman W. Morton, of Estherville, Ia., were married Saturday at the Lands Lutheran church. The Rev. Samuel Carlsen officiated at the ceremony.

The bride wore an ivory velvet gown with high neckline, fitted bodice and velvet ruffles edging the skirt and train. Her veil was of three tiered ivory nylon edged in lace. She carried a shower bouquet of Talisman roses with ribbons and streamers to match.

Mildred Skyberg, of Dallas, Texas, was the maid of honor and was attired in an emerald green velvet gown with gloves to match. She wore a green velvet poke bonnet trimmed with a gold plume and carried a garland bouquet of gold chrysanthemums.

Gloria Fossum, all of Canton, Joan Norem, San Diego, Calif., were the bridesmaids and were dressed identical to the maid of honor. The flower girls, nieces of the bride, were Anita and Patricia Sogn, Cathy Hall and Helen and Janice Ulrickson. They wore short dresses of ivory velvet, and ivory velvet poke bonnets with green plumes. The ring bearer was Gregg Ulrickson.

Merrill Morton, brother of the groom, was the best man. The groom’s attendants were Francis Boggins and Arthur Irwin, Estherville, Ia., Roger Snook, Luverne, Minn., and Lloyd Taplett, of Sioux Falls.

The wedding march was “Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring.” Mrs. Homer Ulrickson sang “At Dawning” and “O Perfect Love.” She was accompanied by Mrs. Kenneth Sogn. The candlelighters were Audrey Fossum and Delores Hinderaker, of Astoria.

A reception dinner was held at the home of the bride’s parents for 125 guests. The dinner was served from a table decorated with white tapers and white chrysanthemums. Mrs. O. H. Opland, of St. Louis, Mo., and Mrs. Adolph Larson, of Canton, were at the silver service. Mrs. John L. Berggren, of Tulsa, Okla., cut the wedding cake. Waitresses were Bonnie Baker, Marilyn, Carol and Arlene Fossum, Helen and Bonnie Fossum, Marguerite and Oreen Lillemoe. Those in charge of the gifts were Mrs. David Prieb, Webster, Mrs. Lawrence Sendelbach, of Pipestone, Minn., and Phyllis Lokken, Sioux Falls.

The bride was graduated from Augustana Academy of Canton, and also from Augustana college. She is now teaching in the high school at Gruver, Ia. The bridegroom was graduated from the Estherville high school, attended Estherville Junior college and was graduated from Augustana college. He is employed in the sales department of the John Morrell company.

Mrs. Morton wore a tweed wool sharkskin suit with brown accessories and a red fox fur for traveling.

Out of town guests present were Mrs. O. H. Opland, St. Louis, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. John L. Berggren, Tulsa, Okla., Mr. and Mrs. Miles Smith, Conde, Mr. and Mrs. David Prieb, Webster, Mr. and Mrs. Cameron Hall, Harvard, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Orlon Lee, Hull, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Arlyn Roe, Brookings, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Minier, Vermillion, Mrs. Lawrence Sendlebach, Pipestone, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Twedt, Burbank, Mr. and Mrs. D. O. Partello, Dr. and Mrs. M. T. Morton and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Albertson, all of Estherville, Ia.
