Farwell store, church, and cemetery, origin of name?

Farwell store, church, and cemetery, origin of name?

Does anyone know the origin of the name Farwell in relation to the store, church, and cemetery in Sanborn County? I checked the WPA Federal Writers' Project, but it said, "of unknown origin."

I now have the cemetery records for the Farwell / Ravenna Cemetery in the southeastern corner of Sanborn County.
