Services for Wendell "Windy" Harford, 72, Redfield, were Thursday, August 26, 1993, at the First Congregational Church, Redfield, with the Rev. Fred Sprenger officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery. The Thelen Funeral Home, Redfield, was in charge of arrangements. A Masonic service was held the evening of August 25 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Everett Randall, George Schade, Bob Dobratz, Jack Boub, John Solheim and Dick Anderson.
The organist was Betty Johnson and the soloist Maurice Hargens.
Mr. Harford died Monday, August 23, 1993, at Community Memorial Hospital, Redfield.
He was born June 17, 1921, at Northville to John and Wilkie (Collins) Harford. He attended Redfield Public Schools. He served in the U.S. Army First Armored Division, receiving honorable discharge in May, 1943.
He married Bertha Roeber October 3, 1948, at Redfield. He was employed at Duke's Bootery and by the U.S. Postal Service in Redfield for 30 years before retiring.
He was a member of the First Congregational Church, Masonic Lodge, Yelduz Shrine and the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, both of Redfield.
Survivors include his wife, Redfield; four sisters, Dora Erickson and Mavis Tubandt, both of Redfield; Gladys Royce of Miller; and Dorothy Oliver of Macks Creek, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.
