I am searching for information about the Lewis Franklin Mitchum family. They lived in Carroll/Gibson County TN 1800 - 1900. Specifically, I am trying to identify the children of Lewis Franklin Mitchum and his wife Elizabeth "Betsy" Hurt. My grandfather was a member of this family, or of the next generation. I think his name was Charles H. Mitchum. Here lately, I have been told that his name was more probably Harvey...Perhaps Charles Harvey??? I am wondering if Charles' father could be Harvey?? Was Harvey a son of Lewis Franklin? He was said to be born about 1860 in Milan, TN.
