Could anyone tell me what time period the lines changed for Tenn & N.C. I am trying to locate the parents of a Joseph Bridges born abt. 1811. In the Wash. co., Illinois he stated that he was born in Tenn. in a later census same place, his son stated that he was born in N.C.

I believe his father may have been a Henry Bridges who moved to Washington Co., Illinois in either 1820 or 1830. I would appreciate any help and would love to hear from anyone researching Bridges. Thanks in advance for any help.
