Melissa, I don't know if you are still doing lookups or not. I have a "John Gess" (perhaps spelled Gist, Gest, or several other ways) who is supposed to be on a 1801 or 1802 tax list under Jason Cloud's Company. There are several names there I am interested in -- Ridenour, Haley, and of course Cloud. Perhaps others.

They were on that Anderson County tax list but also were said to live on "Beaver Dam Creek" but I can find no such Creek. There is a "Beaver Creek" in neighboring Knox County. But if that is the right creek, why are they listed in Anderson County (I have seen this list and they were on it, but I can't find it anymore) rather than Knox County?

At any rate, I'll pay you something for a scanned image, or a list of those names (I believe there are 65 names in Jason Cloud's Company.

thanks
