F. Preston Sanders and his brother, John, preached a revival that sparked the origin of Fairview (UMC) church. I am trying to confirm whether this revival took place in 1913 or 1914. In Sketches of Holston Preachers (http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&a...
), Preston's bio mentions a diary that he kept. I am trying to find out if this diary still exists and, if so, is there mention of the revival he and John preached at led to the beginning of Fairview.
I have contacted the archives at Emory and Henry and am awaiting a response from them, as well. Preston's home church in his retirement was Union Grove UMC in Friendsville. It might be possible that this diary is with the church or possibly with his family. He had several children, so it may have been passed down through generations as an heirloom.
Thanks for your help.
