Looking to find any other descendants of James Campbell Housley (1846-1930), son of Robert B. Housley & Sarah Cooper; he was born & died in Campbell County. James had 17 children by his 2 wives, Nancy Catherine Heatherly & Ollie Love Ivey - and I'm trying to add to what I already have on those children & their descendants. I'm descended from Joe Housley, James' son by Nancy Catherine Heatherly, & glad to share what I have.

Dawn,
Thanks for all of the information; you are correct, I did have almost all of that, but it was very kind of you to post it. I didn't know that Phoebe died in childbirth; I wonder if the child survived.

Surnames: Ivey, Maupin,
I am interested in the family of Arrena Ivey b. 1877. I have an Arena or Amena b. 1857 who married John B. Maupin. I am researching the child of these two, Bessie or Elizabeth who also married an Ivey. She married Alvis Thornton Ivey. They had two children, Fadrew and Elizabeth and are said to have raised another child Linian or Lillian Coline Ivey. She was not their biological child per family history. If anyone can help unravel this mystery it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello I looked at census records and marriage records of Campbell Co TN and found the following;;
1898 Marriage of Thornton Ivy and Cordelia Sharp

1900 Thorton Ivey lived with his parents age 23
1910
Ivey Thornton 37married 1 time 6 years
____Bessie 26 M1 6 yrs 2 children 3 living
____Tadrew 3 listed as Female
____Liniane C the age is written on top looks like 7 or 9

She may be a child of Bessie's since she stated she had 2 children and 2 were living

1920 Cherry St
IVEY Thornton 45 widowed
___Coline daughter 16
___Tadrew 12 MALE
___Elizabeth 8
___Helen 30 sister
___Garfield brother 37
___Ruby sister in law 36
___Elizabeth 79 widow
Barker Albert boarder 42

1918 WWI draft card has his mother as next of kin..doesn't mention children dated Sept 12 1918

Do you think maybe he married Cordelia 1898 and they divorced and later she died...and if there was a child she may have come to live with Thornton...But my guess is she belonged to Bessie. Coline was born about 1904--Bessie and Thornton got married around that time also
