Catherine Douglass b: 1831 in Campbell County, TN M-James Thomas GIBSON, April 04, 1855 in Campbell County, Tennessee ** Is she the Catherine GIBSON who married Elias RICHMOND in 1870 Campbell County?
Karen,
You're going to find that the Davis family is part of yours (Douglass & Perkins) also. My GG Grandpa was E.R. Davis (Elias RICHMOND) from Oswego, TN who married Margaret Perkins (Squire Perkins' sister).
That makes me blood related to the Davis and of course the Perkins before my G Grandpa and G Grandma were married. They were first cousins. It becomes a mess the farther you get in these families, however, don't think for a second all they did was marry relatives. That was an acceptable thing then and not just in the south. Also, when you look, see Harrison Roach (GGGrandpa) and David H. Roach (GGrandpa). David Roach married a Bowman after my GGrandma Carrol died and had children by her. This is on the Powell valley side of campbell co. Kelly Lynch on Davis Chapel rd. can help You. He is married to my grandma's half sister, Ruby Roach Lynch.
You may find that the Lays (Esco Lay, brother in law to my GGrandma)are related to the Penningtons from up around White Oak and on up into Claiborne Co on through to KY and VA. My GGrandma was Sarah Elizabeth Pennington married to Tom Price and sister of Maynard Pennington. Their father was George Pennington and mother was a Anna Huddleston from SC. They are buried on the road from White Oak to Duff on a hill on the left about two miles from White Oak.
Man, You're going to be related to everybody if you keep this up...
