CARROLL CO. TN residents came into that area by 1822-1823 from Anson and Montgomery Co.'s NC. Most had lived in Montgomery Co.NC and moved in groups of migrations from Montgomery Co. NC to Carroll Co. TN. My Rogers, Greens, Rowlands, Liles, & so many others trace back to those 2 counties in NC, and in fact, Montgomery Co. NC before 1779 had been a part of Anson Co. NC as it incorporated a vast amount of land that was split off later to form not only Montgomery Co. NC, but then later on, Union, Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Stanly Co's NC. The land that my Rogers actually lived on is now in Stanly Co. NC but according to all files they listed being from Montgomery & Anson Co. NC. That is because that land the Rogers lived on was Anson, at one time, then became Montgomery Co. , then by 1841 was taken into Stanly Co. NC when it was formed from Montgomery in 1841. ( Our Rogers had not moved but lived on lands when the county lines just changed around them, so they actually had lived in Anson, then Montgomery before they migrated to Carroll Co. TN in 1823. By 1841 Montgomery Co. NC then was split and western part of it taken to form Stanly Co. NC & that is the land that had belonged to my Rogers when living in Montgomery Co. NC ).
I have files on the Davidson line in Anson Co. NC that have the names of "TAYLOR" on them. Recently found that these same Davidsons in Anson Co. NC had arrived in Anson Co. NC from Amelia Co. VA where they also had connections on land deals with the TAYLORS of Amelia Co. VA who were vast land holders there. I don't yet know if the TAYLORS in Anson Co. NC trace back to Amelia Co. VA but it wouldn't surprise me, as so many migrated from Amelia Co. VA down to that region known as Anson Co. NC earlier.
One of the Taylor names is James Taylor in VA, I think, but here is the exact wording on the Belyeu family files of the Anson Co. NC land deed mentioning Taylors, Davidsons & etc.:
" 14 April 1800 Hardy Grissard and Abraham Belyeu* of Anson Co. ( NC ) sold 200 a. to WILLIAM TAYLOR for L75 NC money. The land was on Brown Creek and referenced Ralph Vickers corner and Scarbrough's survey. Witnesses: DANIEL DAVIDSON, Ephriam Hunter. Hardy mad his mark; Abrahm did not sign. Recorded April 1800 ANSON CO. NC DB ( Deed Book ) F& G pg. 136 "
