Does anyone know anything about Hayden Wells and his brother, James, who came to Nashville with the first settlers from NC in 1779-1780? James (I think) started a grist mill outside the walls of Fort Nashborough and James may have eventually gone to Robertson County, just north of Davidson County, where Nashville is located. I once heard from a Hayden Wells family member (when I was too young to care) that Hayden had married an Indian woman and moved to MS. He also may have lost an eye and wore a patch.

My Wells family was from Robertson County. Any help would be appreciated Thank you!
