The mom was married first to a PETTY/PETTIT (Rhoda Petty possibly)-family tales have it that he was a fur trapper/fur trader--they had one daughter (maggie e petty)--then the mom is said to have married a STEAGALD and had the children Church (possibly Churchman),Babe, and Ab (possibly Absolom).Maggie was born around 1830 or later.Something happened and family tales say that maggie was separated from the others in the family and either met and married a Mayo in either Tennessee or Alabama-have some info on her when she came to Alabama but none on her before when she was still in Tennessee.So if you're researching either of these names and have a missing "MAGGIE" please get with me....thanks
